Nick Vermeulen | in search of the feminine
Nick Vermeulen is a Dutch sculptor working under the name REIGN59.
After more than thirty years as a graphic designer and creative entrepreneur, he found a new expression for his fascination with form, line and composition in sculpture.
Working in marble, alabaster, bronze, ceramics and wood, Nick explores the feminine form: strong and vulnerable, sensual and sometimes deliberately imperfect. His sculptures move between figuration and abstraction and often develop in response to the character of the material itself.
Nick works in the Netherlands and regularly in Italy, where he selects marble and alabaster and draws inspiration from the country’s long sculptural tradition.
Under the motto “In Search of the Feminine”, he continues to search for simplicity, movement and beauty in every line and curve.
